Government - Throughout the semester long course students will examine the foundations and different levels of participation in government. Additionally, students will review the structure and function of the legislative, executive, and judicial branches of the U.S. government and examine how the U.S. government performs its roles through domestic and foreign policies. Lastly, students will explore how federal and state governments interact with and impact our civil rights and social justice.
Economics - Throughout the semester long course students will gain an understanding economic systems, business & finance, and the principles of Macroeconomics. Students will be able to answer questions such as what economic decisions influence who gets what as well as how markets work around the world.
Why? To develop in students a sense of critical awareness of themselves, their community, and our society as a whole. As a result students will question their relationship, role, and conscious support or rejection of current economic and political systems.
